Above is the Hotel Beale which opened in 1899, and is still standing after more than 100 years. Successful for decades, the historic Hotel Beale now sits lonely and abandoned, having fallen on hard times. It is near the old Santa Fe Depot.

Once the premier hotel in Kingman, the Hotel Beale first catered to the many passengers of the Santa Fe railroad. Later to the travelers of Route 66, when it came through.

In 1906 the Beale Hotel was purchased by Tom Devine, father of actor Andy Devine. Andy Devine always referred to Kingman as his hometown. Actor Andy Devine was raised in Kingman, where he moved from Flagstaff, Arizona at the age of one.
